Donation Spotlight: Jeremiah Program

April 2, 2018

At Tiny Pies, we are committed to donating our products and our proceeds to local charitable organizations that, like our pies, help spread joy.  Our newest partner, Jeremiah Program Austin, is focused on spreading that joy across two generations.

Jeremiah Program began in 1998 in Minneapolis, but expanded to Austin, Texas in 2011.

At Jeremiah Program, their mission is to prepare determined single mothers to excel in the workforce, ready their children to succeed in school, and reduce generational dependence on public assistance.

The facility in Austin, opened in April of 2017, provides housing and empowerment training for dozens of families.  Following a rigorous application and enrollment process, residents are able to focus on their education while their children are being cared for through an on-site child development center.

"One of the greatest benefits of our program," states Deirdre Anderson, Director of Development in Austin, "is community."  All of Jeremiah Program Austin's residents are single mothers.  Through extended life skills and empowerment classes provided by the organization, these individuals are offered group support and encouragement by their peers.

The Jeremiah Program Austin offers a number of ways to be involved.  To volunteer, give, or learn more, please visit www.jeremiahprogram.org/austin.
