#FarmFreshFridays at Tiny Pies

September 19, 2017

Dinner tonight? PIE!

We believe pie is perfect for every occasion... but we will admit that we have officially entered pie season. (Hello, Fall!)  What we won't succumb to, however, is the notion that pie is strictly a dessert pastry.

The very first pies, created hundreds of years ago were made predominantly with meat.  Crust was created to simply hold everything together.  While we honor our crust a little more than that, we are happy that history celebrates the savory side of our favorite pastry.

Beginning this September, we'll be introducing #FarmFreshFridays, a locally-sourced initiative geared to creating pies worthy of gracing your dinner table.  Each week, we'll be scouring the stands at Johnson's Backyard Garden, Boggy Creek and Springdale Farms (just to name a few), with the sole purpose of letting what's in season inspire us.  Our goal is to have a new flavor for you each Friday.  All products will be subject to availability, of course.

See below for one of our first takes and be sure to follow our #FarmFreshFridays on Instagram.
